Dr. Ghazal obtained MBBS from King Faisal University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in 2005 after which he joined the 4-year Internal Medicine Residency Program and was awarded the Saudi Board Specialty Certificate in 2009. In 2010, he joined the Adult Cardiology Fellowship training program at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and in 2013 he was awarded the Saudi Fellowship of Adult Cardiology as well as the King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences Adult Cardiology Fellowship. In 2014, Dr. Ghazal joined McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, Canada for Advanced Echocardiography Fellowship which was obtained in 2015. At the same time, he was awarded Diplomate in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, USA. Dr. Ghazal is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the American Society of Echocardiography  (FASE) and the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).

From 2015 till the end of 2019, Dr. Ghazal was appointed as Assistant Professor and Head of Echocardiography Lab at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University. During that period, the echocardiography lab has undergone huge progress and introduction of advanced echocardiography procedures. During Dr. Ghazal service at the university, the echocardiography lab was awarded the Intersocietal Accreditation in transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography, to be the first echocardiography lab to receive this accreditation in the middle east. Moreover, Dr. Ghazal established the Adult Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at the university.

From the beginning of 2020 till the beginning of 2022, Dr. Ghazal worked as the medical director at Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center, the largest cardiac center in the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia.

From 2022 till 2024, Dr. Ghazal worked as a Cardiology/Echocardiography consultant in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in partnership with Mayo Clinic in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

From 2024 till present Dr. Ghazal is working as consultant of cardiology and echocardiography as well as the head of adult cardiology unit in Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal Medical City, King Fahd Hospital of the University in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Ghazal has published many scientific papers and researches in the field of cardiology and echocardiography including The Book of Echo which was published in 2019.  He also has many local and international presentations and lectures.
